As founder and director of Share Our Strength I want to add an early word of thanks, and tell you that after 13 years and the distribution of more than $45 million for hunger relief, our partnership with the Fool is one the most exciting I’ve seen yet.

Last month I was on an airplane with two newspapers. In the Wall Street Journal I found these headlines on consecutive pages:

"Building-Products Companies Expected to Post Strong Profits for Third Period""

"Insurers to Post Robust Results for 3rd Period"

"Truckers to Post Strong Third Quarter on Healthy Freight Levels, UPS Strike"

"Oil Companies to Post About 10% Rise in Profits"

The headline of the other paper, USA Today, was Food Banks Running on Empty.

The point is impossible to miss. Wealth is bring created faster, in greater abundance, and is reaching more people, than at any time in American history. But most anti-hunger and anti-poverty organizations have been completely left out. They continue to experience drought despite the overflow of a booming economy. Fortunately, Fools are helping Share Our Strength create a new kind of wealth, what we call community wealth. The community kitchens that will be built as a result of Fools sharing their strength will be an incredible symbol of our success.
