The Daily Workshop
Report
by Robert Sheard
(TMF Sheard)
LEXINGTON, KY. (May 29, 1998) -- Today completes our fifth month with the Dozens portfolios, so at today's closing bell, we'll be adding a hypothetical $1,000 to each of our half-dozen Dozens groups and will add stock #6 to each portfolio. (For an explanation of the Dozens method, please see my May 14th and 15th Workshop columns.)
With the posting of today's new Workshop rankings, five of those stocks have already been determined and the newest addition to the Dow Dozen will be determined by today's final Dow rankings. For those of you following along with this informal comparison, I'll list the holdings for each of the Dozens models, in the order the stocks were acquired. The return figures listed are annualized figures computed through late this afternoon (not including dividends). Keep in mind that annualized numbers at this point of the year can be very misleading and should only be used as relative comparisons among the models.
