The Churner
Like the agitator in a washing machine, The Churner makes investors turn over their stock positions faster than laundry in a spin cycle. His dubious goal is to make his clients move in and out of their investments too quickly, generating a larger dollar volume in broker commissions than investment returns. His recommendations can change in an instant, leaving helpless investors dizzy with mental whiplash. An irredeemable scoundrel with no scruples, The Churner once tried to seize control of the international financial markets by locking the restrooms at the New York Stock Exchange until trading was nearly halted.
