Duel Flashback
The Chocolate War

Like a bunch of Oompa Loompas in a food fight, we staged a chocolate war back in October -- just in time for Halloween. Paul Larson backed Hershey <% if gsSubBrand = "aolsnapshot" then Response.Write("(NYSE: HSY)") else Response.Write("(NYSE: HSY)") end if %> while Rick Aristotle Munarriz unwrapped the case for Tootsie Roll <% if gsSubBrand = "aolsnapshot" then Response.Write("(NYSE: TR)") else Response.Write("(NYSE: TR)") end if %>.

The bout would linger as these old economy consumer nondurable companies held steady over the six months that followed. By the time the cocoa settled, Hershey had shed 3% of its value while Tootsie Roll climbed 2% higher.

Victory? Rick. Congrats!
