(FOOL GLOBAL WIRE) LEXINGTON, KY. (October 25): The Victorian social and literary critic John Ruskin once coined the term Pathetic Fallacy to refer to the projection of human feelings and emotions onto Nature. And at the risk of being pathetically fallacious, today's gray and drizzly skies in Lexington were as close and dull as the performance of the IFG model today.
Without any news crossing the wire, there's precious little to report today except the mixed tone of the holdings. The Dow tried to make a little run after housing starts dropped lower than expected, but the overall market wasn't able to sustain any excitement.
On the plus side today, ADC Telecom, Green Tree, Nike, and Tellabs shook off the gloomy mantle and posted gains. But SCI Systems continued yesterday's steep sell-off, dropping another 3% today.
Check in with us later this weekend, at which time I'll have posted the weekly updates for all of the IFG models and the Unemotional Growth model in the IFG Statistics Center. Have a Foolish weekend! Transmitted: 10/25/96 |
