The Daily IFG Report

(FOOL GLOBAL WIRE)
by Robert Sheard (MF DowMan)

NEW YORK, NY. (August 12): After a morning spent re-inventing the computer world to arrange for a machine that meets my set-up, I'm finally back in business on the road. I apologize for the weekend files not being posted at their normal time, but I hope to have those ready to go tonight.

Well, I've started plowing through old issues of Investor's Business Daily to gather the data we'll need to run tests of the Relative Strength variations. To save time on the road, I'm leaving the price information blank in my spreadsheets here so I can spend all the time I have gathering the IBD data I can't get elsewhere. So, this means I'll still have the price info to compile back in Lexington. Nevertheless, we should have some results to look over in several weeks.

I can't really speculate on how the testing is coming at this stage because I'm not doing any analysis now, just strictly gathering the raw data. The analysis and number-crunching comes later.

I thought about turning the next two week's nightly reports into a travel-log, but after I've described my cell 50 or 60 times, what's left to say? So, I'll just leave you with a brief warning that the next two weeks' worth of nightly reports will be at unusual hours (read late), based on when I get through at the research center each night. Bear with me while I'm on the road and we'll have something to pore over in a few weeks' time.

Oh yeah, by the way, not much news on the IFG stocks today, other than Hewlett-Packard's weekly barrage of new product announcements and development plans. Chief today was the introduction of two new color inkjet printers, one aimed at the home user and the other at the professional user.
