Hewlett-Packard will slash prices as much as 24% on August 1.
The company also announced a 25% rebate program from August 1 through October 31 on its CD-Recordable (CD-R) solution, the HP SureStore CD-Writer 4020i.
Also in the Computers and Peripherals group, 3Com <% if gsSubBrand = "aolsnapshot" then Response.Write("(NASDAQ:COMS)") else Response.Write("(NASDAQ:COMS)") end if %> announced that it is extending its joint development and distribution agreement with IBM. IBM will add the full suite of 3Com's Oncore High Function Switching modules to the IBM 8260 Intelligent Switching Hub.
3Com also announced that it has expanded its Transcend Network Management solution which will enable network managers to manage their entire networks more efficiently as an integrated business system, increasing efficiency over the current methods of managing each network device separately.
And finally, SCI Systems <% if gsSubBrand = "aolsnapshot" then Response.Write("(NASDAQ:SCIS)") else Response.Write("(NASDAQ:SCIS)") end if %> has completed its purchase of The Titan Corporation's <% if gsSubBrand = "aolsnapshot" then Response.Write("(NYSE:TTN)") else Response.Write("(NYSE:TTN)") end if %> Electronics Division. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.
