(FOOL GLOBAL WIRE) LEXINGTON, Ky. (June 14): The new list of Investing For Growth stocks comes out today and there aren't any changes from last week's top ten. The only difference, other than a few minor adjustments in Industry Rankings, is that Bio-Rad Labs <% if gsSubBrand = "aolsnapshot" then Response.Write("(AMEX:BIO/A)") else Response.Write("(AMEX:BIO/A)") end if %>, which was recently in the top group, has fallen off of the High Growth Screen, and thus, out of the IFG rankings.
Look for the new IFG (Relative Strength) rankings late Saturday or early Sunday in the IFG Statistics Center.
Another IFG medical stock, RoTech Medical <% if gsSubBrand = "aolsnapshot" then Response.Write("(NASDAQ:ROTC)") else Response.Write("(NASDAQ:ROTC)") end if %> was the only mover of any note today. RoTech picked up over 6% on no news, perhaps a correction after the sell-off following last weekend's bearish story about the stock in Barron's. Otherwise it was a very slow day for the group. (All of Wall Street must be glued to their sets watching the all-day coverage of the U.S. Open. If only my office was wired for cable!)
In company news, Medtronic <% if gsSubBrand = "aolsnapshot" then Response.Write("(NYSE:MDT)") else Response.Write("(NYSE:MDT)") end if %> said today that the FDA approved a new indication for treatment of spasticity related to cerebral palsy and brain injury. The treatment involves Medtronic's implantable drug pump, SynchroMed, which is implanted in the stomach and pumps the drug, Baclofen, into spinal cord nerves, Medtronic spokesman Dick Reid said. The stock picked up half a point on the day.
Happy Fathers Day, Fools. Enjoy the weekend!
