(FOOL GLOBAL WIRE) ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 29 -- The IFG portfolio took one on the chin today, falling 1.35%, while the indices each lost less than 1%. The S&P and DJIA were very close to each other again today, falling 0.64% and 0.63%, respectively. The only IFG company in the news today was Oracle. Oracle and Hewlett-Packard announced their first TPC-C cluster benchmark. (TPC stands for Transaction Processing Performance Council.) Oracle and H-P's result is the industry's highest benchmark posted on an open system 32-bit operating system. This announcement confirms that Oracle is well positioned to offer high-performance combined with outstanding scalability. In other Oracle news, they are one of the companies cited as intending to license the new Java OS from Sun Microsystems. Think Microsoft's worried? Transmitted: 5/29/96 | ||||||||
