LEXINGTON, KY. (Aug. 29, 1997) -- In yesterday's column, I recapped the performance of my three unofficial portfolios (Blue Chip, Technology, and Thoroughbred) and promised the new list of Thoroughbred stocks for September.
Each month, I post a list of 15 stocks that show decent fundamental growth characteristics and top-notch price performance in recent months. As with the old Port Folly game, I weight each stock equally at the beginning of every new month (as if one were buying the stocks in equal-dollar amounts) and record only price changes, no dividends or trading costs.
Here, then, are the 15 stocks for September. (Opening values will be today's closing prices.)
