The Daily Workshop

It's "deja vu all over again" for the Dow and the Nasdaq. Just like yesterday, blue chip stocks rallied while the technology-laden Nasdaq Composite gave up ground. Of the three major indices, the Nasdaq is the one that's mired in red numbers for the quarter.
Given that a lot of the growth screens in the Workshop are loaded with Nasdaq stocks, the sad performance of the aggressive screens of late isn't surprising. Disturbing perhaps, but not surprising.
A number of readers who don't check in with us every day are wondering if we've dropped the ball on the Foolish Workshop database this week. In recent months, we've been able to update the database every weekend, but we've had to revert to a monthly update for the foreseeable future because of the time commitment involved in putting the database together each weekend.
I'll still be posting the database and rankings after the first Friday of each month, which is the cycle we use for the screens in the workshop, but in the interim weeks, a group of readers has banded together to generate the rankings.
They're planning to post their database files in the message board folders (on both AOL and the WWW site) sometime during the weekend. I'd like to express my thanks to the group involved in the cooperative project. The intent behind this area was a forum for experimentation and shared research. It's gratifying to see how quickly a number of people stepped in to cover a feature I'm no longer able to provide every week.
Fool on and here's to a quick and meaningful recovery for the Nasdaq. Fairways and Greens, Fool!
