I need to make a couple of announcement this evening. First, if you've been having trouble reaching your Internet-based broker this week, please take a moment to read my Investing for Growth report this evening. I discussed the problem and have a temporary solution to share with you, including the links you'll need if you're trying to reach K. Aufhauser or Ceres Securities on the web.

Also, a number of people have asked about the Thoroughbred Stock Challenge results. Those results are posted directly on the Challenge's website; it's not really a part of The Motley Fool. I just built it independently to give the people who hang out here a game to test their theories out on. I'll include a link to the game's site here occasionally, but the best plan is to go to the contest site and then bookmark it (or save in your favorite places folder) so you can find it directly with a simple click.

A lot of red ink was spilled today on Wall Street, but some of the semiconductor companies and associated industries fared well, despite the program trading that dragged the major indices decidedly lower in the afternoon. It's entirely too soon to make any predictions for 1997 comparisons of our screens based on a few days, but the Relative Strength stocks have jumped out to a nice early lead.

Bear with us as we continue to do some refinishing here in the Workshop. I've still got some work to do to get the area completed, but in the meantime, I hope you enjoy the material and please join us in the message folder on the AOL forum for a non-stop discussion.
