Fools in Newsprint

Readers Reviews

Most folks whose local newspapers carry the Fool are extremely happy with it. About 99.5% of comments we get from readers are overwhelmingly positive. Below is a smattering of feedback that we've received in the last year.

We don't mean to make you roll your eyes by patting ourselves on the back here. Instead, we think that if you skim through these, you'll get an idea of how many people (a large percentage of them not yet online) are benefiting from our feature. You may think you've got plenty of Foolishness right here online, thank you very much, and don't need any more. But think of your neighbors. You can do many of them a favor by asking your local paper to consider running the Fool. It may end up that because of YOU, several hundred of your neighbors in Metropolis turn their financial lives around, learning the truth from the Fool each week in the Daily Planet.

So if you're feeling magnanimous, give your business editor a jingle and gently suggest that he or she look into carrying the Fool.

We thank you -- and your friends and neighbors will, as well!

Keep the good articles coming. My brother in Jacksonville, Florida, likes your columns so much that I package them once a week and send them to him.

I enjoy your weekly column in my newspaper -- the Charlotte Observer in North Carolina -- and I look forward to future columns. You are indeed fun (and informative) to read.

Hey, you guys have a great page. I was searching for a detailed explanation on lifo vs. fifo for my finance class homework, and yours was by far the best I found. Thanks for such a good job!

I have used the trivia questions to share with my sixth graders who enjoy the challenge of finding the company names. We did a little investing of our own and appreciated the definitions of Dow Jones, Blue Chip Stocks, etc. The students who "invested" in Lucent also appreciated hearing about it in your column. Again, I am glad to get this chance to let you know I appreciate your column and enjoy using it in my classroom.

I just want to say thanks for all your help and teachings. You guys are prophets in the world of investment beginners. You are helping me learn and get excited about what I am learning. I can't thank you enough. Keep up the great work. We all appreciate it. Thanks.

The answer to this week's Foolish Trivia is none other than McDonald's (huge shoes, overarching goals). Thanks for your column and your website. We're new to the market and have learned more from you than from any other source. Keep up the good work!

Thank you very much for your regular section. Every other day of the week, I don't open the business section until I'm done with the sports and front page. But on Tuesdays, I start off with the Business section and read the first four pages as fast as I can to get to The Motley Fool. I only wish that you guys were writing your column when I was in high school, when I had no clue about investing. Although I'm starting rather late, your suggestions have already helped me on my way to financial security, both in the present and for the future.

The addition of this feature to the Flint Journal has increased both the interest of myself and students in my classes at Lake Fenton High School regarding business issues and investing.

I read your column every week in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, savoring every tidbit.I have used your investing advice for the past year and have found it to be helpful for a beginning investor such as myself.

Thanks again,

I have been reading The Motley Fool page in the Los Angeles Times since the first week and I enjoy the informative, concise articles on the economy and stock market. One suggestion is to expand the section from one to two pages, while still keeping the format of several short articles. Keep up the good work!
