The Dow
Spreadsheet
A: Whenever you download a file from the Fool, make sure that the first time you open it, you open it from the program that it was intended to run on, not from the icon. Often, the icon will try to link it back to AOL, which is wrong. In this case, you'd be trying to open a very large spreadsheet from a program (AOL) which wasn't made to open spreadsheets. Instead, open Excel, go to the File>>Open and open the Dow Spreadsheet from there. When you save it from Excel, then you'll be able to use the icon thereafter. Q: Nope, tried that. It still won't open. Something about the wrong version of Excel? A: The Dow Spreadsheet only works on versions of Excel later than 4.0. If you do not have Excel 5.0 or greater, just send a note to FoolMart, and we'll get back to you right away. Q: Where do I go to find out if the new numbers are out and where I can download them from? A: That's an easy one. Just visit our dow spreadsheet update area. We post updates and corrections to this page as they become available. Note: The Dow Dividend Spreadsheet is available in FoolMart.
