The Investing Life

The Universe is bullish... has been ever since the Big Bang. Some people think the expansion will never end -- others believe the expansion will come to a halt someday, and the Universe will suffer a major correction, bearishly retracting until the cosmic market is closed forever.
It occurs to me that all of us are investors. Yes, I know that most of you reading this are investors or you wouldn't be here. Did you consider that even other animals invest? Any creature that has free will makes investments every day. A cat may choose to conserve energy, saving it for that brief explosion of speed to capture its prey, while a mother may choose to invest all her time and energy in her children. When the split comes, it's bittersweet indeed.
Time is our brokerage account, and our portfolio is populated by the choices we make. Ill-thought decisions and rash actions based on hope or whispered conversations lead us to ruin. Armed with the truth, we can take responsibility for our lives, and find the power to complete our creation. Our real wealth is the time we have left, and although the amount grows ever smaller, we can increase its value every day.
