Fools, Barons, and
Arms
by SundialMan
There was once a wealthy dynasty in Europe founded upon great investing prowess. When the savvy investor bought a Baron's title, he placed a jester's symbol within his coat of arms. The unusual choice of ornament was the source of much speculation and amusement in Baronial circles and when asked why he had chosen such a symbol, the new baron replied, "So many of our people had the role of Fools in the medieval courts and were thought of as Fools, I will put it on my crest for everyone to see."
The baron's name?
Rothschild!
Long live Folly!
