"Twas the night before earnings
and all through this room,
some creatures are posting
their predictions of doom.
While others more merry
and full of great cheer...
say the stock can't be stopped
we'll see $200 this year!
So we sift through the posts
filled with trivia and tripe,
to find one or two nuggets
among all the hype.
Why do we do this?
Because it's torture to wait...
so we search for one message
that might tell our fate.
We really should be nestled
all snug in our beds....
(but can't get those estimates
out of our heads.)
Eyes glued to the screen
we fret and obsess
how the street will receive
just a modest e.p.s.
We worry about ad costs;
tax rates enlargened.
Did we factor in tote bags?
and What About Margins?
Then a smile as we think
of Joe Kernan's blank face
as he chokes on reporting
that Iomega *out-paced*
So now lay your finger
to the power-off switch
and go to bed confident,
this is a Star we hitched.

My thanks to all fellow Fools. Sweet dreams.
