PsychPlayer - Web Winner

Geez, you guys are already doing so many things, it's hard to imagine really what might lie ahead for us all ! Stay with the formula : Inform, Amuse, and create Community! How might these winning ideas be made even more diverse and compelling?

[1] An Annual Fool Conference in Las Vegas. We can write it off, and laugh at all the gamblers. Create our own 'gambling games' based on ultra-short-term investment techniques, hype, and inside information. We can have a Foolish costume party.

[2] Motley Fool sponsored Investment Clubs on the Internet. Fools gather together in virtual space and pool their money and select stocks just like the ones that meet in person. The Motley Fool creates software to carry on the forum activities, lines up a digital bank with CyberCash and approves trades based on group votes (security).

[3] An searchable index of Fools that interact on this site. Profiles and interest areas, contact information, references to worthy contributions made in the Motley Fool. In this way, the wider community of Fools can become better known to each other.

[4] New forums on investment tax planning, retirement planning, and financial planning.

[5] Partnerships with interesting information providers, like MarketGuide (StockQuest, financial information on companies) (save filtering screens for Fools, allowing online access without downloading new data every week.)

[6] Motley Fool branded personal checks, Visa Cards.

[7] Partner with other magazines (like SmartMoney, The Economist, etc.) to advance publish selected articles like you do with EETimes.

[8] Guest Columns from the wealth of book authors you admire.

[9] A monthly roast of Bad Wall Street advice (stolen from SmartMoney. One of my favorite reasons for reading it.)

[10] An interactive game, 'SimMarket' (kind of like Sim City), where an intrepid Fool can enter either the past or the future and make investments and watch them grow or decline in rapid progression. The game can be interrupted to get company news, industry trends, etc. A great historical lesson, and a great creative adventure in how future world economics might work.

[11] Smart inference software (from companies like HNC Software) that might analyze all the message boards every night and remove postings that have trivial content.

[12] A Motley Fool Closed-End Mutual Fund. Heck, shares might become as scarce as Green Bay Packer tickets!

I have read the Motley Fool since the first week it was created in America Online, and there haven't been many days I've missed since then. I've enjoyed interacting with the Gardners and other TMF's, read the lunchtime and evening news rather than watch TV or read the papers for business information, and obviously I like the contests, because they provide an excellent way to challenge the imagination. Heck, now that I have a Fool Necktie to wear, I found a few Fools at work I didn't even know about ! Continue to grow and prosper, and yes, you are helping to change the world!
