The Motley Fool is going public!

The Fool has been in business for three years now and has been in the black every year. The Fool is the best-known content provider on AOL and the future is so bright the founders just gotta wear shades. The company will trade on Nasdaq under the symbol FOOL.

Because the Fool is so well connected and has AOL backing it up, there is absolutely NO RISK in investing in this stock. In fact, it's such a SURE THING that we guarantee that nothing bad will happen to your investment. You know the Fools! C'mon, send me your check for $1,000 now because tomorrow will be too late! There are just too many other Fools who want a piece of the action.

What's wrong with this picture? Well, let's start with the fact that it's a lie. And if I was a stockbroker and said any those things to you, I could be fined, barred from ever working in the industry again, and possibly jailed.

But how many of you were intrigued enough to listen to the pitch?

Can you pick out the parts that were not only misleading, but also illegal? You'll be able to after you read the Family Fool's look at investment scams.
