Good News? Good Economics!

There were no major economic reports today; but, we have a full slate of news releases scheduled for the remainder of the week.

Tomorrow we'll have the July reports on retail sales, real earnings and the Consumer Price Index. Wednesday will mark the release of the preliminary report on productivity and costs during the second quarter. On Thursday, the Federal Reserve releases its July report on industrial production and capacity utilization, and the National Association of Home Builders publishes the results of its July survey of the status of the housing market. Friday will bring the July report on housing starts and building permits, and the University of Michigan's preliminary August estimate of consumer sentiment.
