It looks like the government agencies finally caught up on the data gathering and reporting backlogs that were caused by the government shutdowns. Consequently, the rate of release of news reports has slowed somewhat.

There were no major economic news releases today.

However, during the remainder of the week we will be reporting on government and private releases of information on international trade, retail sales, durable goods orders, existing home sales, jobless claims, and consumer sentiment.
