The only economic news today was the release of the University of Michigan's final December value for its Consumer Sentiment Index. Today's report revised the December number upward from 90.5 to 91 -- just above the six-month average of 90.7. November's final number of 88.2 was the lowest reading since a peak of 94.4 in July.
