Dueling Fools

Duel Flashback:
eBay

September 22, 1999

Six months ago we put a pair of Fools on the auction block. Rick Munarriz (TMF Edible) explained why he thought eBay <% if gsSubBrand = "aolsnapshot" then Response.Write("(Nasdaq: EBAY)") else Response.Write("(Nasdaq: EBAY)") end if %> had the only perfect online business model. Paul Larson (TMF Parlay) argued why the company was overbid.

Our Foolish Voters gave our bear the narrowest of victories, and it follows that despite its reputation for volatility, shares of eBay gave up a scant 3.8% of its value. Then again, that's all it takes to get a W around here. Sold!

Victory? Paul Larson and our Voting Fools. Congrats.
