Dueling Fools

The Duel: AOL or AOHell? Last week, we debuted Dueling Fools with a close look at Intel Corp. Did anyone go home with a busted lip or a nasty shiner? No way! Fools know that the best way to get to the bottom of anything is to hear all sides of the story in a civilized and constructive discussion. We may disagree often, but we'll always walk away better for the debate. This week, our duel isn't just between two people -- this duel involves the hundreds of bulls and bears who participate in our America Online message folders. We took the debate out into the community and let all of our readers have at it. This is Foolishness at its finest. En garde! In the listbox to the right, you'll find the bullish and bearish cases, as well as the rebuttals and helpful links to more information about America Online. Finally, and most importantly, there's a link to the AOL message folder, where we invite you to continue the duel in fine Foolish fashion. Touching a high of $74 7/8 just a week or so ago, America Online shares have fallen back to $64. Is this a pause before the road higher or has the world's largest online media company gotten ahead of itself? After reading the bullish and bearish cases, you be the judge. Which case is more convincing? Let us know by posting in the AOL message folder. [Any suggestions, comments, praise, or flames, please send them along to Rick Aristotle Munarriz ([email protected]) and the other Foolish editors and producers.] |
