Humana announced first quarter earnings of $0.24 per share, which was in line with analysts' consensus earnings expectations. This result compares to $0.19 per share for the fourth quarter of 1996 and $0.32 per share for the first quarter of 1996. First quarter premium revenues increased 16% to $1.8 billion from $1.6 billion for the same period in 1996.
