Some of the company's more well-known brands include Centrum, Advil, Anacin, Chap Stick and Preparation H. In addition to these consumer healthcare staples, the company is involved in marketing specialized medical devices, animal health products, agricultural products, and a complete line of ethical pharmaceuticals, vaccines and nutritionals. A recent shift in product mix to higher-margin pharmaceuticals has driven gross margin expansion over the last two quarters. Most important of all, American Home has substantial new product visibility with over 50 potential pharmaceutical products in clinical development.

Latest Financials

On a pro forma basis, net sales increased 6% for the 1997 first quarter, reflecting higher worldwide sales of pharmaceuticals, consumer healthcare, and agricultural products. Reported net sales were $3.6 billion for the quarter, 1% below prior year levels. (Go to next snapshot.)
