With a market cap well over a billion dollars, National Data is a leading provider of high-volume transaction processing services and application systems to the healthcare and payment systems markets. The company serves a diverse customer base comprised of almost 70,000 healthcare providers, 1000 healthcare plans, more than 350,000 merchant locations, 35,000 corporations and 300 banking institutions, as well as federal and state government agencies. The company markets its services directly to merchants and healthcare providers and indirectly through business alliances with a wide range of banks, insurance companies, and distributors. National Data is one of the largest independent providers of healthcare transaction processing and integrated payment systems services in the U.S., processing transactions at an annualized rate of approximately 2.25 billion at the end of fiscal 1996. Internal revenue growth is running between 15% to 20%, up from 10% in the previous year, as sales force expansion begins to payoff.
