The Company

The machine vision segment of Electro Scientific is a nascent one, and the company has made it a priority going forward, with the hopes that it will be a significant driver of top line growth. The company has targeted the semiconductor capital equipment market due to its core expertise in and experience with wafer ID and alignment in its own memory repair systems. Over 90% of its revenues are derived from three business segments: memory yield improvement, miniature capacitor production equipment, and circuit trimming. The remainder consists of vision systems and micromachining. Electro Scientific controls over 50% of the available market share in all three of its core businesses, with 80% market share in memory yield improvement products.
