The Daily Dow LEXINGTON, KY. (September 27): A light day on Wall Street closed out the week, with the Dow eking out a tiny gain in the last 30 minutes of trading. This morning's revised Gross Domestic Product numbers were cheered briefly by the bond market, but stocks never really carrier through on the rally and the majority of the day was a wash. The only bigger "wash" for the day was the incredible rain we got most of the day here in the Bluegrass. Good day to forget about investments altogether and drag one of those titles out of the "to read" pile. Wish that's exactly what I had done.
There was no news for any of our Foolish Four stocks and none of them moved significantly, so let's just leave it at that. A relatively unimportant day all the way around. So launch your weekend with an easy mind and enjoy the weekend.
Many readers here on AOL and on the Web site have asked about the Unemotional Value approach (UV). So to give us a permanent site for those details, I wrote a Fribble for today called just that, "The Unemotional Value Approach." The Fribble, which if it hasn't already appeared on the Web should be there soon, explains all the details about the UV approach: how it works, why it works, how well it works. Enjoy it and then join us on the message boards on the AOL forum for more discussion.
One last note: I'll be out of town all next week, working on the database for the UV's companion approach, the Unemotional Growth model (UG), so we'll have a series of guest Fools writing these daily reports. My thanks go to MFs Python, Elwood, and Venus who will be your tour guides next week. I'll be back with you again on Monday, October 7. Fool on!
