LEXINGTON, Ky. (June 10): Another change in the daily standings for the Current Foolish Four. AT&T, which just entered the group last week, slipped back out as the stock rose enough to allow Caterpillar to sneak in the back door and take its spot as one of the Foolish Four. These changed might be frequent over the next several days. Don't let them make you second-guess anything you've done recently.

Well, it's not one of our Foolish Four stocks, but Westinghouse <% if gsSubBrand = "aolsnapshot" then Response.Write("(NYSE:WX)") else Response.Write("(NYSE:WX)") end if %> is one of the Dow 30, so no one's going to shoot me for including a bit of news on it here. Michael Jordan, Westinghouse's CEO, commented that he felt CBS should be a separate division, sparking lots of speculation about the company's plans. As for Foolish Four news, Chevron announced today that crude oil began to flow from the N'Kossa offshore oil field in the Republic of Congo. Chevron holds a 30% interest in the field, the deepest water offshore project ever attempted in the Gulf of Guinea. By the end of the year, the N'Kossa field production is expected to reach 100,000 barrels a day.

In other Chevron news, the company and Monsanto <% if gsSubBrand = "aolsnapshot" then Response.Write("(NYSE:MTC)") else Response.Write("(NYSE:MTC)") end if %> reached an agreement to settle the discrimination lawsuit involving 43 former employees of Chevron Chemical's Ortho Consumer Products business. Monsanto acquired the unit in 1993 and the suit came about when a number of employees were terminated in 1994. Under the settlement agreement, Monsanto will pay the plaintiffs a total of $18.25 million for lost wages, compensation for other damages and attorney costs.

An otherwise quiet day for the blue chip stocks. Perfect chance to get out there and get my lawn mowed before it rains -- again. Enjoy!
