LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 9): A slow news day for the Foolish Four, with the only story concerning Kodak's announcement that it is building a $200 million polyester film base machine at Kodak Park, its largest manufacturing complex. The new machine will be used to make film support for movie print film. The company said nearly 90 percent of all movies are shot on Kodak film.

The machine will be housed inside a 150,000-square-foot building and will take two years to build, involving nearly 400 workers and creating 50 new jobs while retaining another 500. Apparently investors are slightly worried about the cost, with Kodak stock slipping more than two points.

The entire Foolish Four portfolio had an off day, continuing the recent sluggish pattern it has been in as the DJIA has corrected some 4% or 5%. DuPont and 3M both lost a little to the Blue Chip index today, with Chevron the only Foolish Four stock to post a gain.

Nothing exciting, so I won't go looking for trouble. Enjoy the evening and forget you even read this report today! You've got better things to do than agonize over every eighth move in these babies, don't you? Set to, Fool!
