Wow, what a day. In last night's re-cap, I mentioned that I'd have a "Snooze Alarm" flash for a new addition to the Borefolio. Little did I realize that one such "unforeseen event" would be that some of my candidate stocks would race off into the sunset before I could lasso them!

The stock I intend to buy tomorrow may not surprise some long-time regulars in Fooldom. My admiration for the company (and the stock) is no secret. It may be a controversial choice, however, since it's smack in the middle of that much-maligned semconductor group. The bargain (even after a nearly 10% rise today in the stock) is simply too good to pass up, though. So tomorrow, we add 100 shares of Lam Research (LRCX:NASD) to the Borefolio. I'll have a full report ready for your enjoyment in the Boring Portfolio scroll by 8PM tonight.

Here's a quick run-down of today's activity in our four current holdings. Interest-sensitive Green Tree Financial ended its multi-day droop, gaining 1 1/4 to close at a bid of 31 1/2. Kulicke & Soffa was swept along in the strong tech rebound today, picking up a full point to close at 22 1/2. Texas Industries picked up 3/8, also. I'm looking forward to a fine quarterly earnings report from TXI in a couple of weeks.

Our only loser today was Potash Corp. POT flopped 3/4, to close at 77 7/8, bid. Not to worry, though. Once spring is sprung and thoughts turn to growing things, POT will bloom. Right now, it's just resting.

Which is what I hope to do as soon as I finish this report on my new little Lam.
